The DOJ followed the leads, gathered the evidence, and obtained an indictment.
The guy entered a plea of not guilty and is now awaiting trial.
This is how the justice system works.
I’m an independent. I don’t vote party. I vote people. As such, I feel a need to point out what isn’t being discussed.
I don’t see is democrats rallying together to “march in lockstep” and rand defend the guy. I hear crickets.
I don’t see democrats accusing the republicans of a conspiracy involving massive (impossible) amounts of manufactured evidence.
I don’t see a DOJ infested with bias seeking to use the law to ruin the guy’s life although he holds a high position overseeing several committees.
What I DO see is a DOJ that investigated a complaint, found that charges were warranted, so they filed the charges regardless of party….without the AID of a special prosecutor which is a protection FOR the defendant. The entire concept of a special prosecutor is to put someone with the SAME party affiliation in charge of the investigation to prevent the investigation from being used as a political tool.
I see democrats saying “if the jury finds him guilty, he’s guilty”. Then they quietly move on. End of story.
This guy didn’t even benefit from having a Special Prosecutor assigned.
Trump has a special prosecutor with impeccable Republican credentials. Yet he’s been attacked all the same as if he was just another democrat “marching in lockstep”. Marching to the socialist tune just like…. Liz Cheney, Mike Pence, Brian Kemp, Chris Christie, Mitt Romney, and the list goes on.
This guy is a high ranking democrat and this case is one of many examples that exposes the nonsense of a left-wing conspiracy against the right for the sham that it is.
