I’m an autodidactic polymath that’s followed the national political scene closely for over 40 years.
In that time I’ve raised children, married, divorced, started companies, worked for corporations, ran a corporation, worked in banking, mortgages, telecommunications, and more. I’ve flipped rebuilt homes with my own two hands and for both my family, rental income, and resale. I’ve been the leader among my coworkers, rewarded with large bonuses and exciting trips to exotic destinations, and I’ve been homeless and dependent upon the grace of others for my next meal.
I can’t say that I’ve “done it all” but the total of my experiences allows for a unique perspective on the world where I can easily identify bullshit. I’m a true independent voter that doesn’t identify with the word “moderate” as some of my positions are rather extreme. Each election I compare the positions of each candidate with my own priority list, consider which of my priorities might be addressed in the term and vote according to those specific interests regardless of the party that a candidate may belong to.
I believe that the single greatest threat to democracy is the political parties and their bullshit. Having worked for three separate political parties over the years, I believe that I’m in a much better position to understand this than most. Recently the level of bullshit has grown so high that I feel it’s becoming a threat to all, including those drinking the bullshit kool-aid.
Rather than sit on my arse and hope for change, I’ve decided to do what I can to point out where the bullshit is and how it can be proven to be the bullshit that it is. My hope is that I can just get through to a handful of people, and that those people can do the same.
If so, the enormous amount of time, energy, and money spent in disseminating and countering the bullshit could instead go towards improving the lives and future for all.
